چکیده

In this paper the design of a mobile antenna system consisting of a transmitting and receiving sub-systems for Ku band geo-stationary satellite broadcasting and communication is mentioned. A transmitting sub-system plays the role of sending the signal toward the satellite while the receiving sub-system plays the role of receiving signal from the satellite and tracking the target satellite. The designed front end antenna has characteristics of not only a horizontal polarization for receiving frequency bands but also a vertical polarization for transmitting frequency bands and is manufactured using 24 antenna patch elements of 1X8 array structure. As a result, designed antenna system has EIRP of 34.4dBW satisfying international pattern regulation at 14.0~14.5GHz and G/T of over 7.0dB/K at 11.7~12.75GHz. The designed mobile antenna system is experimented at the moment of movement to other places by the vehicle. A tracking and receiving broadcasting service using Koreasat-3 in Korea and a tracking JCSAT-2A in Japan are successfully examined by this suggested antenna system.
